Both of these photos were taken of the same flowers at the same time late in the day.

I used a hand held manual flash (on camera left) using a Gary Fong Diffuser (with a yellow gel filter inside) to get this effect. I like both photos but this one has pizazz!

So much time is spent on the computer it's nice to walk with the dog several times a day. Use a fill flash to bring out detail that would have other wise go black on a darker back lit animal.
This has been an especially good year for outdoor nature photography!
